north end nibbles

the north end of halifax is easily becoming my favourite part of the city. among the rows and rows of colourful, quaint houses that pretty much scream out east coast vibes live some of the most delicious eats this city has to offer!

i saw online a few weeks ago that a new place was opening up - robie st. station, a new breakfast nook + bakery with tasty eats, and most importantly GREAT coffee and now I can definitely confirm the latter.

the coffee was A++

the decor was rather dreamy

from big cities, to mountains, to lakes, to farmland with oceans all around, canada is a little bit of everything and that is why i love it.

to me being canadian isnt about fitting into one of those categories, its about embodying a bit of each. i love that i can be downtown toronto chic one day, and hiking somewhere on the east coast in my blundstones and flannel the next.

province of canada is all about displaying this cozy, yet cool culture through their collection. they are impossibly canadian and that is why i love them.

p.s i definitely put maple syrup in my coffee - and if you havent tried it you probably should

NYC

Posted on: Sunday, 28 September 2014

there is just something about New York that no other city in the world does for me. I think its the combination of old buildings, captivating museums, delicious food and a hustle n bustle like no other. I have always seen myself calling New York City home for a period in my life and I hope that happens ASAP

last february a friend and I hopped on a plane (mid snow storm) to the big apple for a gals weekend getaway, adventure was calling! much like all of my vacations our itinerary was built around checking out some great eats!

its pretty dreamy

First night cocktails and a tasting menu at The Stanton Social
Jack's Wife Freda - Great Lunch Spot in Soho
being touristy
Isola Trattoria
capped off the weekend with brunch at the Standard Grill and a walk on the high line

no matter how many times I go, I discover something new and exciting each time

NYC you are one of a kind

fallfrequents

you can definitely call me a minimalist and say that I am pretty basic when it comes to style, but I like to think I always find a way to pull it together.

these are all my fall must-haves for any wardrobe to get you through that awkward transition season from unbearably hot to blustery wintery winds

my go to's for this season are Madewell, Zara and Mango - being on a student budget pretty much 100% of my wardrobe is from there (but I would be lying if I did not have the odd splurge)

fall being my favourite season -  I do not hate it!
